About the font Troll Bait

Troll Bait, by Ray Larabie, is a blackletter-style display face in which each letter sits inside a small heraldic shield, with the gothic character cut into it in a rough, dark and slightly worn style. Capitals and lowercase are mapped to shield-shaped tiles of the same family, the digits and some signs are shown as shapes too, and the character set is Latin. It is listed among gothic fonts.

The effect is a coat-of-arms alphabet, suited to fantasy games, medieval and metal designs, tavern signs, role-playing materials and initials or monograms. Because every character is boxed in an ornament, words read as a sequence of badges, so treat it as a decorative alphabet for short names, not for sentences.
