About the font Time Roman Bold Italic

Time Roman Bold Italic is a bold italic in the manner of Times New Roman, with Cyrillic. On the preview it is a compact, high-contrast newspaper serif with sharp, bracketed serifs, a narrow, economical width and a clear, slanted lowercase; the digits are traditional and sturdy.

Clones like this were common in 1990s Cyrillic desktop publishing as stand-ins for the standard Times. It is a neutral workhorse for emphasis, headings and captions inside text set in a regular Time Roman, in Latin and Cyrillic alike.
