About the font Peterburg

Peterburg is a serif face with transitional, bookish proportions: moderate contrast, crisp bracketed serifs, a slightly narrow set width and an upright axis. Latin and Cyrillic are both complete, with lining figures, and the lowercase has an even, sober rhythm.

The name refers to St Petersburg, and the style suits the grave, restrained tone of classic literature, academic papers, newspaper columns and official documents. It works for books, articles and print layouts at text sizes as well as for dignified headings. It is a quiet workhorse rather than an expressive display face, so it will not draw attention in short, loud headlines.
