About the font Miniature Bold

Miniature Bold is a bold old-style serif with Latin and Cyrillic, modelled on the Garamond tradition of the sixteenth century. The capitals are classically proportioned, the lowercase has small bracketed serifs, a low x-height and an angled e crossbar, and the weight adds strength without making the shapes clumsy. Figures are old-style in feel and fit well within the text.

The tone is bookish, warm and a little scholarly, like a well-made printed volume. It suits chapter titles, headings in books and magazines, menus, wine labels, certificates, invitations and short bold passages in text that needs a traditional voice. Used as the only weight in a long paragraph the bold colour would be heavy, so keep it for emphasis and headings rather than body text.
