About the font Baskerville Cyrillic Bold

Baskerville Cyrillic Bold is a bold transitional serif following the style of John Baskerville's eighteenth-century types: sharp contrast, vertical stress, fine bracketless-looking serifs and round, upright shapes with strong thick strokes. The preview starts with Cyrillic capitals and lowercase, including old-orthography letters such as yat, izhitsa and the dotted I, followed by Latin figures and punctuation. The set is listed with Latin, Cyrillic and Russian.

The bold weight makes headings, names, subheads and covers stand out, with a dignified, bookish and slightly theatrical tone. It suits historical reprints, book jackets, wine and delicatessen labels, formal invitations and display lines in either alphabet. In very small sizes the hairlines grow weak, so avoid using it for fine print.
