About the font Academia Roman

Academia Roman is a light, calligraphic serif in the Renaissance and Venetian tradition, with Cyrillic and Latin letters. The strokes carry a slight flare and an oblique stress, the contrast is gentle, the capitals are classical in proportion with a wide O and a narrow E, and the lowercase has small, open eyes and short ascenders. The figures are lining and the punctuation is complete.

The tone is scholarly and calm, between book print and inscription. It suits poems, invitations, certificates, museum and university materials and short passages of literary text. It prints with a soft, light colour, so it can look pale in small sizes on screens, and for a stronger headline a heavier serif is more convincing.
