About the font Academy Italic Bold Italic

Academy Italic Bold Italic is a bold italic serif with Cyrillic and Latin, in a calligraphic, flat-pen manner. The letters lean evenly, with strong contrast between thick and thin strokes, sharp pointed serifs and wide, flowing capitals. The lowercase has a lively cursive rhythm, and the figures are lining and dark.

It gives a formal, academic and slightly old-fashioned tone: invitations, diplomas, certificates, menus, historical publications and headings in Russian and Latin-script text. The bold italic is intense, so it works for short phrases, names and emphasis, but the dense colour and slant make long paragraphs heavy going.
