About the font a_Assuan Bold

a_Assuan Bold is a heavy slab serif with a condensed, sturdy build: tall letters, thick rectangular serifs, strong vertical stress and a dense, even colour, in the manner of wood type and Egyptian faces. Capitals, lowercase and figures all share the compact weight, and Latin and Cyrillic are covered, with a Russian set. No designer is given in the data.

It works for headlines, posters, labels, newspaper-style titles and signs, where its solid presence is welcome. Lowercase stays readable in short lines. The dense forms clog at small sizes, and long text in this weight is heavy, so use it for display.
