About the font Vinque

Vinque by Ray Larabie is a medieval-flavoured display face in the manner of Celtic and Lombardic lettering. The capitals are broad and rounded, with pointed, flared serifs and thick-thin strokes that look cut with a chisel pen, and the lowercase is a compact uncial-style cousin. Many accented Latin letters are supported, and the figures are old-style and simple. It is listed as a gothic face and is Latin only.

It calls to mind fantasy novels, tavern menus, heraldic signs and game titles. It reads best in titles and short phrases at a medium or large size, in mixed case. Long paragraphs of this narrow, spiky face become heavy, and all capitals slow the eye.
