About the font Regata

Regata is a heavy, flared sans serif with Cyrillic and Latin, listed as a decorative face. The stems widen slightly toward their ends, as in glyphic or chiselled letters, the terminals are cut at angles, and the capitals have strong contrast and a classical sense of proportion. The lowercase is compact and sturdy, the figures are bold, and the punctuation is complete.

The flared, carved look suits titles, covers, posters, hotel and restaurant signs, logos and short headlines in Russian as well as Latin, in a weighty, dignified tone with a hint of the sea (regata means a boat race). It works best at medium and large sizes. In long text the heavy weight and angular cuts make reading slow.
