About the font Outlaw

Outlaw is a Western display face by Billy Argel: tall, sturdy capitals with slab serifs and a hatched, engraved fill that makes each letter look printed from a worn woodcut block. Capitals and lowercase share one form, so the preview shows two similar rows. Latin only; several symbol slots are filled with the foundry's star mark. The file is large, about 497 Kb, because of the detailed texture.

The look is that of wanted posters, saloon signs, rodeo handbills and old-West labels. It suits Western and rodeo themes, bourbon, whiskey and BBQ branding, event posters and short headlines at a large size. The fine hatching blurs at small sizes, and the dense texture makes long text tiring, so use it for a few big words.
