About the font Garamond Italic

Garamond Italic is the italic of a Garamond-style old-style serif, in the tradition of the sixteenth-century French types: a light, narrow, calligraphic slanted letter with small capitals that lean, long ascenders, gentle contrast and swashy details in g, k and the ampersand. The preview shows capitals, lowercase, figures and punctuation, and Cyrillic is listed.

The delicate, bookish voice is familiar from literary editions, so it suits poetry, quotations, captions, emphasis within book text, invitations and refined headlines. It is best at text sizes and above; at small sizes on low-resolution screens its fine strokes thin out.
