Courier New Cyr is a monospaced typewriter face with Cyrillic support: every character takes the same width, the serifs are thin and slab-like, and the strokes are light and even, as on a worn typewriter ribbon. The category list marks Latin, Cyrillic and Russian, and the preview shows capitals, lowercase, figures and punctuation spaced out evenly.
The feel is that of manuscripts, screenplays, forms, code listings, terminal output, receipts and documents with an office-machine character. Its even width keeps columns and tables aligned. For long reading it looks airy and weak, and it makes a deliberate retro or technical statement in design work.
