About the font Castileo Medium

Castileo Medium is an Art Deco inline display face: wide, even capitals with a fine white line cut through each stroke, small serif-like spurs and a high-contrast look reminiscent of 1920s and 1930s theatre lettering. Capitals are drawn in two nearly identical rows in the preview, the lowercase repeats them in smaller capitals, and the figures and symbols carry the same inline detail. Cyrillic letters were added by Nikola Kovanovic, and the font is listed under vintage, decorative, Latin, Cyrillic and Russian.

It calls up cinema foyers, cocktail menus, jazz posters, perfume labels, hotel signage and period book covers. It is for large headings and short names, where the white inline stays visible; at small size the inline closes up and the letters turn grey. Long lines of text lose clarity, and the Art Deco character is best supported by generous spacing.
