About the font Caslon

Caslon is a classical-style serif with Latin and Cyrillic, drawn with moderate-to-high contrast, bracketed serifs, a tall x-height and wide, stately capitals, a gently rhythmical lowercase and figures of equal height. The preview shows a clean, even page of text colour in both alphabets.

The name points to the English type of William Caslon of the early eighteenth century, which formed the standard of English book printing, and this version carries that traditional, trustworthy air. It suits books, essays, formal letters, invitations, menus, certificates and traditional headings. Because it is quiet and refined, it is better for text and subheadings than for loud, ornamental display.
