About the font Benguiat

Benguiat is a serif in the style of Ed Benguiat's 1977 design, with Latin and Cyrillic. The letters have flared, wedge-like serifs, a slightly wide stance, moderate contrast and a few calligraphic quirks, such as the long tail on R and the angled stress of the lowercase. Figures are even and lining.

It carries the warm, characterful tone of 1970s and 1980s book jackets, film titles and magazine headlines. It works for headlines, covers, posters, menus and short passages in Russian or English at a medium or large size. At very small sizes the flared details blur, and long text is better set in a calmer face.
