About the font ArbatCTT

ArbatCTT is a casual italic script drawn with a flat or semi-flexible pen, with a rhythmic slant, rounded forms and moderate contrast between thin and thick lines. Capitals are slightly flourished with small entry strokes, the lowercase is open and wide, and the figures keep the same slant. Cyrillic, Russian and Latin letters are all provided, which makes it handy for bilingual work. The name refers to Arbat, an old street in Moscow.

The style is warm, personal and a little retro, in the manner of lettering found in Soviet-era posters, book covers and shop signs, and a good fit for menus, invitations, souvenirs, greeting cards and accents inside a design. It reads best in a large size and in mixed case. Long stretches of capitals or very small sizes spoil the flow.
