About the font Arbat

Arbat is a light, slanted sans-serif that mixes a pen-written look with simple, rounded forms. The letters lean to the right, the strokes vary slightly like those of a broad nib, and the capitals are wide and open with small flicks at the ends. The lowercase is easy and relaxed, and the digits and symbols match the same casual line.

The name refers to the old Arbat street in Moscow, and the face has the easy charm of a hand-lettered shop sign or a menu board. It works for headings, posters, packaging, cafe and bookstore graphics and short captions, and it is gentle enough to carry a few lines of text at a medium size.
