About the font Alterna

Alterna is a scribbled gothic face drawn as if with a jittery fine pen: thin, wiry, hand-scratched letters made of several overlapping strokes, with tall narrow capitals, small lowercase and knotted, looping tails. The figures look equally sketchy, and the symbols in the preview are replaced by small swirling curls. It is listed among gothic fonts, and no designer is named in the data.

It carries a dark, nervous, handmade energy suited to horror and fantasy posters, game titles, album covers, tattoo-style graphics and short moody headlines at a large size. The thin sketchy lines get lost on busy backgrounds and at small sizes, and punctuation is replaced by curls, so use it for a few words and test the letters you need.
