About the font AG_Benguiat

AG_Benguiat is a flared, slightly Art Nouveau serif in the style of ITC Benguiat, the 1977 design by Ed Benguiat: generous, open capitals with quirky features such as a high-waisted E, a swashed R, small wedge serifs and an energetic contrast, with a large x-height in the lowercase and distinctive round figures. The sample shows complete capitals, lowercase, figures and punctuation, and Cyrillic and Russian sets are included alongside the Latin.

The look is warm and distinctive, associated with 1970s book covers, magazine titles, packaging, posters and film titles. It works for headings, subheads, logos, menus, invitations and short lines of text at medium to large sizes, and holds enough colour to read well in captions. In long text the quirky capitals feel decorative, so use it as a display and accent face.
