About the font a_OldTyperNr

a_OldTyperNr imitates an old office typewriter: a sturdy slab-serif face with even, mechanical stroke weight, flat rectangular serifs and slightly irregular letter shapes, as if struck through a worn ribbon. Capitals, lowercase and figures are all present, and the Cyrillic alphabet is included alongside the Latin. The letters sit on a steady rhythm, wide enough that no two characters crowd each other.

It carries the feel of old reports, police files, letters from a drawer and detective stories. It works well for notices, labels, receipts, vintage-style posters and short passages of text in a retro layout. For long reading it is tiring, because the heavy slabs and uniform colour flatten the page, so reserve it for atmosphere rather than bulk.
