Steelfish Bold is an ultra-condensed heavy sans by Ray Larabie: very tall, narrow letters with thick vertical strokes, tight rounded counters and flat-cut ends, in the manner of old industrial and poster gothics. Capitals, lowercase and figures all share the same compressed height, so a lot of text fits into a narrow column.
The voice is strong, urgent and masculine, close to newspaper headlines, boxing and sports posters, movie titles and signs. It suits large headings and short slogans, especially in tall, narrow spaces. In small text or long lines the dense compressed forms tire the eye, so use it for headlines.
