About the font Snidely

Snidely by Ray Larabie is a quirky, comics face: a rounded, bold serif with curly, hooked and slightly blobby serifs, uneven letter heights and a hand-cut, mischievous rhythm. Capitals and lowercase are both drawn, the capitals have curling tips and tiny spurs, the lowercase is sturdy and playful, and the figures are chunky. The set is complete with punctuation and Latin only.

The name and look suggest a cartoon villain, a storybook caption or a silent-film title card, which suits comics, children’s books, party posters, game titles, spooky-but-friendly packaging and short, characterful headings. It is happiest at medium and large sizes. The curls and uneven forms make long text tiring, so use it for a few lines.
