About the font Planet NS

Planet NS is a wide, geometric techno face drawn from the Monotype Type Drawing Office (Robin Nicholas and Patricia Saunders, 1982), listed among brand fonts. The preview shows capitals only, built from circles and straight lines with flat, cut-off terminals and open forms in the manner of early science-fiction lettering. Several symbols appear as empty boxes.

It calls to mind 1980s sci-fi posters, space-race branding and tech packaging. It suits titles, logos and short labels in capitals at a large size with open spacing. The wide forms use a lot of room and long lines read slowly, so keep it for display, and test punctuation before using it.

Description	Contemporary sans serif design, Planet NS contains more humanist characteristics than many of its predecessors and as such is more in tune with the mood of the last decades of the twentieth century. The overall treatment of curves is softer and fuller than in most industrial style sans serif faces. Terminal strokes are cut on the diagonal which helps to give the face a less mechanical appearance. Arial is an extremely versatile family of typefaces which can be used with equal success for text setting in reports, presentations, magazines etc, and for display use in newspapers, Regulars1otions.Planet
