About the font Ouverture script

Ouverture script is a formal ronde-style script in the tradition of engraved copperplate. The letters lean forward at an even angle, strokes swell and thin with a pointed pen, and the capitals are built from looping swashes with extra flourishes at the ends. The lowercase is compact and joined, the figures are small and old-style, and in the preview a few symbols show as empty boxes. Latin only. It is listed among handwritten fonts and fonts from films.

It calls to mind period dramas, opera programmes, certificates, wedding invitations and old letters. Use it in a large size and in mixed case, in short phrases such as names, titles or greetings. Because the flourishes demand room, it wants generous spacing, and all capitals or small sizes spoil the rhythm.
