About the font NewtonCTT

NewtonCTT is a text serif with Latin and Cyrillic that closely follows the proportions of Times New Roman. The letters are compact and slightly condensed, with strong thick-and-thin contrast, sharp bracketed serifs and an economical width that fits a lot of text on a line. Figures are lining and even.

It carries the familiar, neutral look of newspapers, books and office documents, and reads comfortably in long paragraphs, reports, articles and academic papers in Russian or English. For headlines it is plain rather than expressive, and in very small sizes on screen the thin strokes lose some clarity.
