About the font NewtonC Italic

NewtonC Italic is the italic of a text serif that follows the proportions of Times New Roman, with Latin and Cyrillic. The slanted letters are compact and slightly condensed, with strong thick-and-thin contrast, sharp serifs and a lively, true cursive shape rather than a plain slant. Figures are lining and even.

It carries the familiar, neutral tone of newspapers, books and academic papers, and works for emphasis, quotations, captions, titles of works and foreign words in Russian or English text. Used on its own for long passages the italic becomes tiring, and the thin strokes lose clarity at very small sizes.
