About the font News 701 BT

News 701 BT is a sturdy newspaper-style serif with moderate contrast, bracketed serifs, a large x-height and wide, open letterforms. The capitals are calm and solid, the lowercase is plain and regular, and the figures are lining and clear. Latin and Cyrillic are both included.

The design is made for reading under difficult conditions, so it stays clear in dense columns and small sizes. It suits newspapers, magazines, reports, books and web text, and a regular weight also works for neat headings. Its character is neutral and businesslike, with little decorative charm.
