About the font Linkin Park 1.0

Linkin Park 1.0 is a distressed block-letter display face by Erwin Denissen of High-Logic, dated 1999. The capitals are tall, narrow and heavy, with chipped, torn edges and a stencil-like roughness, as if cut from metal and scraped. The second row repeats them smaller, the figures are equally damaged, and the symbol positions hold small pictograms and graphic marks rather than the usual punctuation.

The look is gritty, industrial and aggressive, in the spirit of rock band logos, album art and urban posters, which suits its name. It works for band names, gig posters, game titles, merch graphics and short slogans in capitals. The heavy, damaged texture needs a big size; in long text or small sizes it turns into noise.
