About the font Karina Black Rus

Karina Black Rus is a heavy display serif with Cyrillic and Latin. The capitals are wide and strong, with flared, slightly pointed serifs, contrast in the stroke weight and a calligraphic touch in a few letters; the lowercase is large and compact, the figures are bold, and the punctuation is complete. The overall effect is somewhere between a Victorian poster face and a flared glyphic type.

It works for titles, covers, posters, restaurant and hotel signage and logos in Russian as well as Latin, where a confident, traditional tone is wanted. At large sizes the shapes show their character. At small sizes and in long text the black weight closes the counters and tires the eye.
