About the font Frankfurt

Frankfurt is a bold, rounded geometric sans serif with a three-dimensional treatment: every letter has a light inner highlight and a dark drop-shadow edge, so it looks like an extruded sign or inflated plastic. Capitals and lowercase are fully drawn, the circles are almost perfect, and the figures and punctuation are complete. It is listed as a 3D, Latin-only face.

The effect gives it a cheerful, retro mood of the seventies and eighties, suited to posters, shop signs, event flyers, packaging and short headlines. It looks best large and in flat, saturated colours on a plain ground. At small sizes the inner line and the shadow merge into a blur, and a whole page of 3D text becomes tiring, so it is a display tool.
