About the font Dollar

Dollar, by Andrey Melman with English letters by Stephen Deken, is a heavy fat-face display serif with Cyrillic and Latin: very thick vertical stems against hairline connections, flat wedge-shaped serifs and a dramatic, almost black texture. Both rows show capitals; in the preview the lowercase row appears as small triangular ornaments, so the font is effectively capitals only.

It recalls nineteenth-century posters, banknote and bank lettering, and stock-exchange or finance themes, as the name suggests. It is for short headlines and logos at a large size; check the lowercase before relying on it, and avoid any long text, as the hairlines vanish at small sizes.
