Font size - only 74 Kb
Cloister Open Face BT is an inline version of a classic Venetian-style old-style serif: each letter is drawn as an outline with a thin white channel running through the stems, as if cut into stone or metal. The proportions are those of a Jenson-type roman, with a small x-height, bracketed serifs and a slanted bar on the e; the preview shows capitals, lowercase, figures and punctuation.
The outline gives the page a carved, chiselled look, reminiscent of monograms, certificates, book jackets and historical title pages. It needs size: below roughly 24 points the white channel fills in and the letters turn grey. Use it for short lines such as a heading or an initial, and keep the running text in a plain face.
