About the font Chicago Plain:001.001

Chicago Plain:001.001 is a bold sans serif with Cyrillic and Latin, built from squared-off curves and flat, straight sides. The capitals are wide and sturdy, the lowercase is large and compact with the roundness of the bowls cut back into rounded rectangles, and the figures are bold and plain. The look is technical and a little retro, like a label on an old instrument or a lettering for a machine.

It suits headings, signs, packaging, posters and interface elements in Russian as well as Latin, where a strong, no-nonsense voice is needed. In long text the heavy weight and tight spacing become dense, so it is better kept to short lines. Do not mistake it for the pixel typeface of a well-known computer system with a similar name.
