About the font Baltica Bold Italic

Baltica Bold Italic is a bold italic serif with Cyrillic and Latin letters. The slant is a true italic with narrowed, slightly calligraphic forms, the serifs are bracketed and the contrast between thick and thin strokes is moderate. The figures are lining and the whole set, from capitals to punctuation, is drawn evenly.

The heavy weight and the slope give it a newspaper, almost bookish emphasis, the kind of voice used for highlighted quotations and subheadings. It works best for short emphasized lines and captions in print; set in long passages it tires the eye, and at very small sizes the thin strokes begin to fade.
