About the font Amerika

Amerika is a historical display serif by Apostrophe with a quirky, slightly Art Nouveau flavour: slim capitals with swelling, uneven serifs, a wide round O, odd ligature-like forms in letters such as E, H and W, and a lowercase that mixes small capitals with rounded shapes. Cyrillic and Latin are included, and the file is fairly large, around 157 KB, because of the detail in the outlines.

The design recalls old posters, pharmacy and bank signage, newspapers and book covers from the early twentieth century, and suits historical projects, period films, cafes, craft brands and vintage logos. The unconventional letterforms add character but slow the reading, so use it for titles and short lines rather than text, and test the Cyrillic glyphs on your words.
