About the font AdverGothic Normal

AdverGothic Normal is a bold advertising sans-serif in the old Gothic poster tradition: sturdy, slightly flared strokes, round shapes cut with flat terminals, moderate width and an even, impactful colour. Capitals and lowercase are both full, the lowercase has a large x-height, and the figures are solid and clear. The listing gives a Cyrillic version with Latin and Russian sets.

The name points to the display type of mid-century advertising, and it suits headlines, shop signs, packaging, leaflets and event posters, where a direct, no-nonsense voice is needed. The heavy weight keeps legibility from a distance and at moderate sizes in short copy. For long paragraphs it feels heavy, so use a lighter text face for the body and keep this for headings and emphasis.
