About the font a_Monumento DemiBold

a_Monumento DemiBold is a sturdy slab serif with Latin and Cyrillic, in the manner of nineteenth-century industrial Egyptian faces. The letters are square and solid, with thick, nearly unbracketed slab serifs, a large x-height, little contrast and a firm, even stroke at the semi-bold weight. Figures are strong and clear.

The name suggests monuments, and the face does have an inscriptional authority, along with the look of posters, railway signs and old newspaper headlines. It works for headlines, signs, book covers, packaging and short text blocks, in capitals or mixed case. In long paragraphs the heavy slabs look dark.
