About the font a_AssuanNr

a_AssuanNr is the medium weight of a condensed slab serif: tall, narrow letters with rectangular slab serifs, strong vertical stress and an even, fairly dense colour, in the manner of wood type and Egyptian faces. Capitals, lowercase and figures share the compact build, and Latin and Cyrillic are covered, with a Russian set. No designer is given in the data.

In this lighter medium weight it is more readable than a heavy cut, suited to headings, subheads, labels, newspaper-style titles and short blocks of text, and the narrow width fits a lot of text into little space. In long paragraphs the dense, condensed shapes still tire the eye, so keep it to short passages.
